Disability

The result of the interaction between persons with impairments and attitudinal and
environmental barriers. Persons with disabilities include those who have long-term physical,
mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which, when in interaction with various barriers, may
hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.

Diversity

Recognising and valuing differences between individuals and groups of people - an
important concept in terms of the integration of people with disabilities into society.
